Many people wonder about the purpose of their lives. While the world offers various answers the Bible provides a clear, God-centered perspective: you were created with intent and purpose. You were made ON PURPOSE, and FOR A PURPOSE. God’s Word lays that purpose out. We exist to know God and to make HIM known! Tell people of God’s goodness, of His wondrous deeds, share “This is how God changed my life.” Lead them to get to know Jesus Christ and to accept Him into their own hearts as their Savior. One major reason for human existence is centered on God. We were made in God’s image to reflect His character and steward the earth, Genesis 1:26-27. Our lives are meant to bring Him glory, and stated in Isaiah 43:7. God, a relational being, created us for fellowship annd desires ann eternal relationship with us. John 3:16; Revelation 4:11.
Heavenly Father, thank you for creating us with intention and purpose. Help us to know You more, to walk in the good works You prepared for us, and to glorify You in all that we do. Give us the courage to follow Your will and the peace that comes from living a purpose-driven life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Jesus prayed! Right at the beginning of His ministry here on earth, we see our Lord experiencing breakthrough. He heals Peter's mother-in-law and then we see that "The whole town gathered at the door." This is our dream - that the whole town would love this gather at the doors of our communities and encounter Jesus, but even in the middle of this success and breakthrough we see that Jesus took time to pray.
As we seek breakthrough we must take the time to pray. Jesus comes back from his time of prayer and says in Mark 1:38 "Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages— so l can preach there also. That is why I have come." Fresh vision and new direction come as He prays.
Let us pray. “Our Father in Heaven, Holy is Your name. Your Word tells me that when I abide in You, and let Your Words abide in me, I can come to You in prayer, and it will be done for me. Help me to desire to know You more and to tell others Your Wondrous deeds. Thank You for never leaving or forsaking me, and I can wholeheartedly place my trust in You and Your Good and Perfect plan for my life. God, You are the King of all Kings, and the God of glory. The whole earth was created by You and points us all to You. Help my life to reflect Your pglory. Let others see You through what I say and do. Keep me shining for You Jesus, and let me be Your hands and feet. Fill me with Your light and Your love. Lord Jesus, forgive me when I’m so caught up in the good You bring about, yet I forget to pray to give thanks. Lord, may I never forget to spend time with You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
